Getting around

Calpe is not only a treat for the senses, but also boasts excellent transport links: the airports at L’Altet (Alicante) and Manises (Valencia), 75 and 130 km from Calpe respectively, provide quick connections to Europe’s major cities. From Calpe’s ports (Port Pesquer el Racó and Puerto Blanco), the islands of Ibiza and Mallorca are approximately 60 nautical miles away.

Neighborhood

The small town of Calpe (officially known as Calp in Valencian) is situated on the east coast of Spain, in the Marina Alta region, in the northern part of the province of Alicante. This beautiful fishing village is lapped by the shores of the Mediterranean and sheltered by the shadow of the Peñón de Ifach, a limestone rock standing 332 metres high with diverse vegetation that provides a haven for numerous bird species. This rock is a symbol of the Costa Blanca and was declared a nature reserve in 1987.

From the coves of ‘El Collao’ in the west onwards, we find beaches such as ‘Arenal-Bol’, ‘Cantal Roig’ and ‘Levante’, two yacht clubs and a fishing port, which offers a very lively scene with one restaurant after another serving fish and seafood dishes. Climb the Peñón de Ifach, visit the Real Club Náutico de Calpe, take a stroll along the “Paseo Ecológico Príncipes de Asturias”, take a dip in the “Baños de la Reina”, diving in the coves, swimming at the fine sandy beaches, a visit to the salt flats or the old town are just a few examples of what you can do in Calpe.
